Junior Beefs up to give Corley the “Chop Chop”
08/08/06
Junior has included 8oz of prime fillet steak to his daily diet in order to Beef up for his World Title challenge.
"It all came about by accident really, I got talking to the local Butcher about my big fight and he was really interested so he offered to sponsor me a pound of prime fillet steak per day.”
“All the old Champions ate steak, Joe Louis, Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson; I read Sugar Rays biography he drank bulls blood in the build up to his fights, but I think I’ll give that one a miss.”
Steak a good source of protein, Iron and Vitamin B12 will hopefully help Junior through his punishing daily routine. Nutrition plays an important role during the preparation for a big fight.
“It’s all about recovery really; training puts a great stress on the body and the way to combat this is good quality meat, fish , carbohydrates, rest and hydration. So all I need now is a farmer to supply me with the Vegetables,” laughed Junior.
Seriously though, everyone is getting behind me for the fight. The last time anyone from Bradford boxed for the W.B.C Title was Richard Dunn against Muhammad Ali; the only difference this time is that the Bradford guy wins.”
